SUPER JUICE

My husband and i have been into vegetable and fruit juices for many years.  They seem to give us that much needed energy and vitamin boost.  You do however need a juicer.  Which like everything in life range in price, i have got a middle of the road one and it works perfectly fine.  The other important ingredient is, you do need to source spray free, organic if possible or even better, home grown produce.  As the vegetables are raw, i am assuming like me you don't want to be consuming some nasty spray as well.

I usually give all the produce a good wash, peel any citrus, as it goes bitter and i advise peeling ginger and garlic. Roughly cut all the vegetables, fruit into pieces that will fit into your juicer.  Have a vessel of some descriptions under neath to collect your juice.  And that is about it.

Turn on your juicer and gradually put through all your produce.  Remove any scum which may have collected on the surface.  It does last for a couple of days in the fridge, but like anything fresh it is better consumed on the day.


BEETROOT, CARROT, APPLE, GINGER AND LEMON JUICE
Makes 500-600 ml

2 Medium sized beetroot, washed and cut into wedges
4-6 carrots, cut in half
2-3 apples, core removed and cut into wedges
1 lemon, skin removed
thumb size piece of fresh ginger, peeled and cut

Put all ingredients through the juicer, remove any scum and drink.
